All classes will be in the rooms off the Fellowship Hall. A crying room is available for families as well.
We have two opportunities for you to participate—we have a study on Wednesday morning beginning at 10:30 am; and we also have our Wednesday night study at 7:00 pm. If you didn’t join us for the previous study, we hope you will “come and see” and learn with us. You don’t have to commit for the rest of your life to come to the Bible Study. We meet for 8 weeks and then take a break for a couple of weeks, and then jump back into our study. Come for 8 weeks and join us. It just might change your life!
1st and 3rd Wednesday each month at noon EMC offers Senior Lunches open to seniors in our Elgin community on the first and third Wednesday of each month at noon in the fellowship Hall for a meal, a time of fellowship. All are welcome, join us for good food and fellowship.
Grief is a natural emotion to experience when going through a loss of any kind: death of a loved one, loss of a relationship, loss of a job for instance. Understanding the grieving process can ultimately help you work toward acceptance and healing. Ruth Hyatt and Judy Wilke-Vogt are co-facilitating a Grief Support Group every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at El Maguey Restaurant. This is a self-help group, not a therapy group. Hopefully, this group will provide emotional, psychological, and moral support for its members. Please email: jwilke19@austin.rr.com to sign up.
EMC has joined the Elgin
Cares Drive-through meal, at Mt Moriah Missionary Baptist Church to help serve our community. Elgin Methodist members contribute baked chicken quarters periodically and members help package food for the meal on the first Friday of each month for hundreds.
Members of EMC and other Elgin churches take part in the Texas Ramp Project team in Elgin, providing and building free wheelchair ramps to low-income older adults and people with disabilities identified by local healthcare providers. Ramps provide safety, independence, and an improved quality of life to clients and relief to their families and caregivers. They often allow clients to age in place at home, surrounded by those who love and care for them. The lives of qualifying individuals can be completely transformed. EMC volunteers are part of a team that has helped build over 100 ramps in the greater Elgin area.
